Weekly Updates
The AI tool landscape moves fast. We update reviews when products change significantly.
What We Cover
We focus on the productivity and automation layer of the modern software stack — the tools that knowledge workers, founders, developers, and small teams use every day to get more done:
- AI writing and research tools — Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Jasper
- Project management and productivity — Notion, Linear, Asana, ClickUp
- No-code automation — Zapier, Make, n8n
- Design tools — Figma, Framer, Canva
- Analytics and SEO — GA4, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Plausible
- CRM and sales — HubSpot, Attio, Pipedrive
How We Make Money
Tuning Digital is supported by three revenue streams, all disclosed transparently:
- Affiliate commissions — When you click a link and purchase a tool, we may earn a small commission. This never influences our rankings or editorial opinions.
- Display advertising — We run Google AdSense ads on some pages. Ads are clearly labelled and we have no control over which ads are shown.
- Sponsored content — Occasionally we publish clearly-labelled sponsored posts in partnership with vendors. These are always marked "Sponsored" and do not influence our independent reviews.
We believe honest disclosure is the foundation of trust. If a link earns us a commission, we say so. If content is sponsored, we label it clearly.
Our Review Methodology
Every tool we cover passes through the same evaluation framework. We don't publish a review until each step is complete.
- Trial period. We sign up for the tool using a paid plan (or the highest available free tier) and use it for a minimum of 7–30 days on real, project-relevant tasks.
- Standardised benchmarks. Every tool in a category runs through an identical task suite — write a 500-word brief, build a 5-step automation, audit 10 keywords, etc. — so cross-tool comparisons are like-for-like.
- Pricing verification. All prices and tier inclusions are pulled from the vendor's live pricing page on the day of publication, never archived screenshots.
- Edge-case documentation. We note specific limitations — file-size caps, plan downgrades, missing integrations — that don't appear in the vendor's marketing copy.
- Refresh cadence. Every comparison and best-of list is reviewed quarterly. When pricing, features, or performance change materially, the review is updated and the "Updated" date is bumped.
- Editorial review. Drafts are reviewed against this methodology before going live. We err on the side of pulling a recommendation rather than shipping one we're not confident in.
Our Editorial Standards
The rules below apply to every piece of content we publish. They exist so readers can trust the verdicts without having to second-guess our incentives.
- Independence first. Rankings are based on testing outcomes, not affiliate payout size. We frequently rank tools without affiliate programmes above ones that pay us — when they're the better tool.
- No pay-for-placement. Vendors cannot purchase a higher ranking, a more favourable review, or removal of unflattering coverage. We've declined this offer multiple times.
- Clearly labelled sponsorship. Any sponsored content is marked "Sponsored" at the top, in the meta description, and in the URL. It never influences our independent reviews.
- Affiliate disclosure on every monetised page. If we earn a commission on a link, we say so at the top of the article. The disclosure is repeated in the footer.
- Corrections policy. If we make a factual error, we correct it in-article with a dated correction note. Email hello@tuningdigital.com to flag anything we should fix.
- No black-hat SEO. No keyword stuffing, no cloaked redirects, no PBNs, no doorway pages, no content-spinning. The site relies on genuinely useful reviews, not search tricks.
How We Use AI
We use AI tools (including Claude, ChatGPT, and Perplexity) as part of our research and drafting workflow — the same way a journalist might use a research assistant. They speed up the initial draft, suggest comparison structures, and catch gaps in our coverage.
They do not replace editorial judgement. Every published article is structured around our human-authored methodology (above), edited for tone and accuracy, and verified against the vendor's live product. We treat AI output the same way we'd treat a press release: useful input, never the final word.
We disclose this here rather than hide it. If you find an AI-generated factual error in any article, please email us at hello@tuningdigital.com and we'll correct it.
Meet the Editor
Alex Bacsa
Founder & Editor · Tuning Digital · Based in the UK
Alex founded Tuning Digital after years of choosing software for his own work and side projects — and getting fed up with reviews that either parrot vendor marketing copy or only exist to chase affiliate revenue. Tuning Digital is the publication that prioritises what doesn't work in a tool as honestly as what does.
No paid placement. No sponsored verdicts. No "team of 50 expert reviewers" who don't exist. Just one operator who tests the tools and publishes the honest result.
