About Us

We Find the Signal.
You Skip the Noise.

Tuning Digital is an independent publication covering AI and SaaS productivity tools. We test software hands-on, publish honest reviews, and help teams make smarter buying decisions.

Hands-On Testing

Every review is based on real usage — not vendor demos or press releases.

⚖️

No Pay-to-Rank

Rankings are based entirely on merit. Vendors cannot buy better placement.

Weekly Updates

The AI tool landscape moves fast. We update reviews when products change significantly.

What We Cover

We focus on the productivity and automation layer of the modern software stack — the tools that knowledge workers, founders, developers, and small teams use every day to get more done:

How We Make Money

Tuning Digital is supported by three revenue streams, all disclosed transparently:

We believe honest disclosure is the foundation of trust. If a link earns us a commission, we say so. If content is sponsored, we label it clearly.

Our Review Methodology

Every tool we cover passes through the same evaluation framework. We don't publish a review until each step is complete.

  1. Trial period. We sign up for the tool using a paid plan (or the highest available free tier) and use it for a minimum of 7–30 days on real, project-relevant tasks.
  2. Standardised benchmarks. Every tool in a category runs through an identical task suite — write a 500-word brief, build a 5-step automation, audit 10 keywords, etc. — so cross-tool comparisons are like-for-like.
  3. Pricing verification. All prices and tier inclusions are pulled from the vendor's live pricing page on the day of publication, never archived screenshots.
  4. Edge-case documentation. We note specific limitations — file-size caps, plan downgrades, missing integrations — that don't appear in the vendor's marketing copy.
  5. Refresh cadence. Every comparison and best-of list is reviewed quarterly. When pricing, features, or performance change materially, the review is updated and the "Updated" date is bumped.
  6. Editorial review. Drafts are reviewed against this methodology before going live. We err on the side of pulling a recommendation rather than shipping one we're not confident in.

Our Editorial Standards

The rules below apply to every piece of content we publish. They exist so readers can trust the verdicts without having to second-guess our incentives.

How We Use AI

We use AI tools (including Claude, ChatGPT, and Perplexity) as part of our research and drafting workflow — the same way a journalist might use a research assistant. They speed up the initial draft, suggest comparison structures, and catch gaps in our coverage.

They do not replace editorial judgement. Every published article is structured around our human-authored methodology (above), edited for tone and accuracy, and verified against the vendor's live product. We treat AI output the same way we'd treat a press release: useful input, never the final word.

We disclose this here rather than hide it. If you find an AI-generated factual error in any article, please email us at hello@tuningdigital.com and we'll correct it.

Alex Bacsa

Founder & Editor · Tuning Digital · Based in the UK

Alex founded Tuning Digital after years of choosing software for his own work and side projects — and getting fed up with reviews that either parrot vendor marketing copy or only exist to chase affiliate revenue. Tuning Digital is the publication that prioritises what doesn't work in a tool as honestly as what does.

No paid placement. No sponsored verdicts. No "team of 50 expert reviewers" who don't exist. Just one operator who tests the tools and publishes the honest result.
