About Us

We Find the Signal.
You Skip the Noise.

Tuning Digital is an independent publication covering AI and SaaS productivity tools. We research tools rigorously, publish honest reviews, and help teams make smarter buying decisions.

Independent Analysis

Every review is grounded in documentation and verified facts — not vendor demos or press releases.

⚖️

No Pay-to-Rank

Rankings are based entirely on merit. Vendors cannot buy better placement.

Weekly Updates

The AI tool landscape moves fast. We update reviews when products change significantly.

What We Cover

We focus on the productivity and automation layer of the modern software stack — the tools that knowledge workers, founders, developers, and small teams use every day to get more done:

How We Make Money

Tuning Digital is supported by two revenue streams, both disclosed transparently:

We do not publish sponsored content or paid placements of any kind. We believe honest disclosure is the foundation of trust: if a link ever earns us a commission, we'll say so plainly.

Our Review Methodology

Every tool we cover is assessed against the same framework. We're transparent that this is editorial analysis, not a controlled lab study — we don't claim benchmark scores or multi-week trials we didn't run.

  1. Grounded in primary sources. We base each assessment on the vendor's own documentation, pricing pages and verified public figures rather than marketing copy. We don't claim hands-on testing or trials we didn't run.
  2. Documentation & capability analysis. We work through each tool's official documentation and feature set to map what it genuinely does well and where it falls short.
  3. Verified figures only. Statistics, user counts, and prices are checked against primary sources — vendor pricing pages, company filings, or named reporting — on the day of publication. We don't publish a number we can't trace to a real source.
  4. Pricing checked at publication. Prices and tier inclusions are taken from the vendor's published pricing page and dated on the article — they are entered manually, not pulled automatically, so we tell readers to re-check as pricing changes frequently.
  5. Edge-case documentation. We note specific limitations — file-size caps, plan downgrades, missing integrations — that don't appear in the vendor's marketing copy.
  6. Refresh cadence. Comparisons and best-of lists are revisited as pricing, features, or performance change materially, and the "Updated" date is bumped.

Our Editorial Standards

The rules below apply to every piece of content we publish. They exist so readers can trust the verdicts without having to second-guess our incentives.

How We Use AI

We use AI tools (including Claude, ChatGPT, and Perplexity) as part of our research and drafting workflow — the same way a journalist might use a research assistant. They speed up the initial draft, suggest comparison structures, and catch gaps in our coverage.

Articles are drafted with AI assistance and grounded in the methodology above — verified figures, live pricing, and the vendor's own documentation. We are putting a human review step in front of publication so nothing ships without an editor checking it for accuracy and removing anything we can't stand behind. We treat AI output the way we'd treat a press release: useful input, never the final word.

We disclose this here rather than hide it. If you find an AI-generated factual error in any article, please email us at hello@tuningdigital.com and we'll correct it.

Alex Bacsa

Founder & Editor · Tuning Digital · Based in the UK

Alex founded Tuning Digital after years of choosing software for his own work and side projects — and getting fed up with reviews that either parrot vendor marketing copy or only exist to chase affiliate revenue. Tuning Digital is the publication that prioritises what doesn't work in a tool as honestly as what does.

No paid placement. No sponsored verdicts. No "team of 50 expert reviewers" who don't exist. Just one operator publishing honest assessments instead of vendor marketing.
